MACRO TOPOLOGY / FIELD NOTE 07
KNOT UNDO
A closed ribbon has been folded through impossible signed crossings. Exchange neighboring beads to reduce its word, choose the topology of the second braid, and turn the crossing stems into a readable ring.
Braid one is reduced. Choose a tight nine-crossing veil or a deeper eleven-crossing crown; both reduce to identity by different routes.
FIELD HELD
Paused
Adjacent exchange is paused. The ribbon will wait without losing its braid word.
OPERATOR NOTES
Undo the impossible
01 / CURSOR
Use ← and →, or tap a bead, to move the luminous cursor. The ribbon is a closed braid; the nodes are adjacent in the word.
02 / EXCHANGE
Press Space or tap the first bead, then a neighboring bead. Their signed order and over-under heights exchange atomically.
03 / UNDO
Press Z or Undo to roll back the last exchange. Undo is free and returns one move to the route-specific ceiling.
04 / RESISTANCE
Distant or anchored exchanges brake without spending a move. The notice names the correction; only the route’s swap ceiling can close the field note.
Tip: a valid route always exists because each seeded braid begins as a finite sequence of braid-relation exchanges from the identity. Undo is free and removes the exchange from the route trace.
