Strike a glass to begin.
A glass harmonica in six chords
Resonator
Eight tuned glasses. Water drags every partial down and pulls the series toward the harmonic; a finger on the rim kills the modes below it. Set the water, choose the node, strike — and hold the written chord before the ring dies.

Water lowers the whole series by 1/√(1+3f) and pulls the modes toward harmonic by 1/√(1+8f). A dry glass is wild; a full one is nearly pure.
A finger on the rim kills the lowest one, two, three or four modes. It also shortens what is left, so a clean chord dies faster than a muddy one.
Strike excites whatever is left of the series. Striking a glass that is still loud adds far less than striking a quiet one — wait for it to fall, or the chord never settles.
The felt bar silences every glass at once and costs you 2.5 seconds of the window.
