A single line, two-way working
Signalbox
One line, one loop, thirteen trains and a timetable that assumes everything runs to time. A signal can only be cleared when the road beyond it is clear — and a train you accept but cannot get away is how two of them meet.

Millbrook West
How the frame answers
The road. Eight sections: west approach, Millbrook West, the through road either side of the crossover, Millbrook East, east approach, and the two halves of the loop. A train occupies every section its body covers, and a train may not enter an occupied block.
Accepting. A train is not running at you until you clear its home signal. That is the whole decision: clear the home and the train is away through your section; leave the home on and it waits at the next box and the delay starts.
Sequence. A distant is locked to its home — you cannot clear D1 until H1 is off. With the distant on, the driver slows on the approach and passes the home at caution, holding the section far longer.
Points. P1 is the west end of the loop, X1 the crossover, P2 the east end. The frame holds the blades when a train stands on them, when a train is running at them as a facing move, or when the move you ask for would cut a reachable train off. P1 cannot be reversed with a down train in the through road; P2 cannot be normalised with an up train in the loop; X1 cannot be reversed with an up train in the first half of the loop.
The loop. It holds one train. Put a train in with P1 or P2 reversed, and it waits at the ground frame until you let it away over the far end.
The danger. This frame has no route locking between the two homes. Clear both and the frame will allow it — then the annunciator screams and you have about twenty seconds before two trains are in the same block.
Later on. The east points lock reversed for the Sallowfen shunt, and then the through road is shut and everything must run over the crossover.
