The sea is still touching the pool. It will not be for long.

Pick a band, pick an organism, then recruit.

A rock pool between tides

Tidepool

The sea is falling away from the rock and the sun is coming up on the pool. Over the next five minutes the water level drops, the rock dries band by band, and the temperature climbs. Shade it, drip on it, pump it, and recruit what will live here — because when the tide comes back there has to be something left in it.

Arrows or WASD look around. Space pumps, Shift shades, E drips, K recruits, Esc pauses, M mutes.

Nothing moves while you are away.

Controls

What your hands can do

Arrows / WASD
Look around the pool
Space
Circulate — hold to pump the water, fast aeration
Shift
Shade — hold the board over the pool
E
Drip fresh water onto the selected band
K
Recruit the selected organism onto the selected band
C / J
Step through bands and organisms
M / H / Esc
Mute, help, pause

Shade keeps the water cool and the rock wet, but it starves the algae of light. Circulate buys oxygen you cannot grow. Drip dilutes the salt and lifts the level, and there are only so many litres in the butt.
